The Muncie Sports Commission is excited for the return of Volleyball Week in Delaware County, which culminates in hosting the IHSAA State Volleyball Championship at Worthen Arena on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.
Volleyball Week is a celebration of the sport’s history and the impact it continues to have in Delaware County. It runs from November 3rd through November 9th and will include a week-long social media campaign featuring historical highlights, personal impact stories, interviews, and reports on the economic impact of events like the IHSAA Volleyball Championship hosted in Delaware County.
With the return of Volleyball Week comes the return of the free volleyball camp in partnership between the Muncie Sports Commission and Munciana Volleyball. The free volleyball clinic has expanded to K-8th grade boys and girls and is held at the Munciana Yorktown facility at the Yorktown Sports Park. The K-4th grade camp runs 6:30pm-7:15pm and 5th-8th grade 7:30pm-8:30pm. Campers receive free t-shirts with their registration and space will be limited to the first 120 registrants per session. Additionally, the Muncie Sports Commission has partnered with Jump Serve Sports to run a weeklong fundraiser to “Serve Up Opportunities” and support Delaware County Youth in their pursuit of sports and recreational opportunities. Whether it’s participating in beginner camps and clinics or playing on a competitive sports club team, this initiative is guided to providing more opportunities to the youth of Delaware County regardless of their ability to pay.
